Services

Everything a small business or home needs. One phone number.

Seven service areas, delivered personally or coordinated through trusted local partners. Items marked Launching soon are being productised now; ask and you will get an honest answer about timing.

01. Websites, search and digital presence

Websites

The core service: hand-coded, fast, mobile-first sites. Semantic HTML, structured data and Open Graph built in from day one, not bolted on later. You own the domain, the hosting account and the code. Plans from R350/month, including a R0-upfront option.

Local SEO

Get found by people searching nearby: Google Business Profile setup and optimisation, consistent directory listings, on-page work, structured data, Search Console, and a simple system for gathering Google reviews. Setup from R1,500.

AEO, answer engine optimisation

Customers increasingly ask AI assistants instead of searching. AEO makes your business visible and citable in AI-generated answers (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude): deep schema coverage, FAQ markup, consistent business details everywhere, and content structured so machines quote you correctly. Almost no provider in the region offers this by name. Add-on from R950.

Digital presence setup

Setup and coaching, not an agency retainer: WhatsApp Business, Facebook and Instagram business pages, Google Business Profile posts, email newsletters on free tiers, and flyer or social-image design. You learn to run it; light monthly help only where recurring content genuinely makes sense.

02. AI services

AI consulting, cloud

Vendor-neutral guidance on Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot for small businesses: which tool fits, account and workspace setup, prompt libraries for your actual work, and a basic usage policy so staff know the rules. Hourly, or as a fixed-price AI readiness session.

Safe and private AI, local

The flagship: AI that runs on your own hardware, so confidential documents never leave the building. Local model installs (Ollama, LM Studio) sized to your machine, private document question-and-answer, on-device transcription, and simple data-handling rules. Built for confidentiality-bound professionals (law, accounting, health) and privacy-minded homes. Starter setup from R2,950.

AI literacy training

One-on-one or small-group sessions for owners and staff: what these tools can and cannot do, how to use them safely, and where they save real time. Pairs naturally with either setup above.

03. IT support, cloud and networks

Microsoft, Apple and Linux

Cross-platform support, stated plainly: Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 setup and administration; macOS, iOS, Apple ID and iCloud; Linux desktop and server. Includes the Linux revival: an old machine made fast, safe and useful again instead of replaced, R650 per machine with data migration included.

Email and cloud

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace setup and migration, budget-friendly alternatives where they fit, cloud backup, and properly configured business email on your own domain. Vendor-neutral: the recommendation follows your needs and budget, never a reseller commission.

Networks and Wi-Fi

Home and office Wi-Fi that actually covers the building: design and installation, mesh systems and access points, router hardening, guest networks, VPN and secure remote access, and ISP liaison including plan right-sizing. Structured cabling through a partner electrician; Kouga Digital designs and configures. Labour from R1,850 for a small office install.

Servers Launching soon

NAS and backup servers, and compact mini-servers for small offices: file sharing, backup target, automation and a private AI model, all on one quiet box in the corner.

Managed care plans Launching soon

Monthly plans bundling remote support, patch and update checks, backup verification, endpoint protection, router firmware and email health, with a quarterly review. Business hours, next-business-day response as standard, same-day attention for plan clients. Honestly scoped: no 24/7 promises, and that is said out loud. Draft pricing.

Home and office automation Launching soon

Home Assistant as the platform: local, private, no cloud dependence, no monthly fee to an overseas company. Smart geyser control that pays for itself in electricity, camera systems with local storage, and inverter and UPS monitoring. Electrical work through a partner where wiring is involved.

04. Security and continuity

Security baseline audit

A fixed-price check of the things that actually get small businesses and homes compromised: passwords and MFA, update status, backups, router and Wi-Fi configuration, email security (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), breach-exposure check and POPIA basics. You get a written report, a remediation quote, and help with password manager rollouts and scam-awareness training. Homes from R950, micro businesses from R1,950.

Backups and continuity

3-2-1 backup design with restore testing, because a backup that has never been restored is a hope, not a backup. UPS and power resilience for network gear and desktops, and disaster-recovery basics for micro businesses. In South Africa, power resilience is a permanent requirement, not a trend.

Straight talk: Kouga Digital does not offer penetration testing or formal security assessments yet. Those arrive only once the relevant certifications are earned. You will never be sold security work beyond current, demonstrable competence.

05. Software, quality and documentation

Small business tools

Replace a paper or spreadsheet process with a small, owned, documented tool: forms and booking flows, quote and invoice generators, spreadsheet automation, and static sites with light server-side functions. The Kouga Digital quote system itself is the proof artifact.

Software testing

Manual and exploratory QA, cross-browser and cross-device testing, accessibility checks, performance audits and structured bug reporting. Available locally for pre-launch checks and nationally as remote contract work.

Technical writing

User guides, SOPs, onboarding documents, knowledge bases and developer documentation. Every Kouga Digital job already ships with documentation as standard; this is that competency, for hire.

06. Hardware and field services

Hardware and software sourcing

Specification and procurement for home and business: right-sized, warrantied, and registered in your name. Transparent sourcing fee (10% of cost, minimum R200) disclosed on the quote; hardware cost paid upfront by you, to your supplier where possible. The value is the specification and the accountability, not the box.

Installation and repairs

PC and laptop builds, SSD and RAM upgrades, operating system installs and cleanups, malware removal, data migration and recovery (non-forensic), printers and peripherals, software installation and licensing. Callouts across Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp and St Francis Bay, from R350 with the first 30 minutes included.

07. Consulting, training and cost control

IT consulting

Hourly and day-rate advice: purchase decisions, vendor choices, troubleshooting strategy, and second opinions on other providers' quotes. No commissions and no lock-in is what makes the second opinion worth having.

IT project coordination Launching soon

Scoping, vendor selection and rollout management for jobs bigger than one pair of hands: office IT fit-outs, moves and migrations. Kouga Digital coordinates; partner trades invoice you directly, so the money stays transparent.

Education and training

One-on-one and small-group training: AI literacy, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, WhatsApp Business, security and scam awareness (particularly for retirees), and digital basics. R450/hour one-on-one, or half-day workshops for up to 6 people at R2,500.

Technology Cost Audit

The door-opener: a R950 fixed-price audit of subscriptions and licences, hosting and email, telecoms and ISP plans, printing, power (geyser and standby load), and refresh-versus-revive decisions on hardware. Delivered as a written savings report with quantified monthly numbers. The fee is credited against any implementation work within 60 days, so it usually pays for itself.

08. Not sure which service you need?

Describe the problem in plain language. You will get a straight answer and a written quote, or an honest referral if someone else is the better fit.
